How we handle your information. Last updated April 28, 2026.

BluWater Bistro Leschi ("we," "us," "our") respects your privacy. This page explains what we collect when you use this website, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We try to keep this short and in plain language.

Information we collect

We only collect information you actively give us, plus the minimum technical data needed to run the site.

Reservations

When you request a reservation through this site, we collect:

  • Your name, email address, and phone number
  • The date, time, and party size you've requested
  • Any notes you choose to add (allergies, occasion, seating preference, etc.)

We use this information to confirm your booking, contact you if something changes, and have it on hand when you arrive. We send confirmation and cancellation emails through Resend , our transactional email provider.

Contact form

When you send us a message through the contact form, we collect your name, email address, the category you chose, and your message. We use it only to reply to your inquiry.

Server logs

Like every website, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) keeps short-term edge logs that include your IP address, the pages you visited, and your browser's user-agent string. These are used for security, abuse prevention, and basic operational monitoring.

Cookies and local storage

The site uses your browser's localStorage to remember a few things between visits:

  • Cookie consent choice — so we don't ask you again on every page.
  • Language preference — so the locale picker remembers what you chose.
  • Analytics opt-in (only if you grant it) — used to enable anonymous usage statistics. We do not currently load any analytics scripts; this category is reserved for the future and will only activate after you opt in.

We don't use third-party advertising cookies, social trackers, or cross-site identifiers. You can change your choices at any time using the control (also linked in the footer).

Who we share information with

We don't sell your information. We don't share it with marketers. We only pass information to a small number of service providers we rely on to run the site:

  • Cloudflare — hosting, content delivery, and edge logs.
  • Resend — sends your reservation confirmation and cancellation emails on our behalf.

We also share information when we're legally required to — for example, in response to a valid court order or to investigate fraud.

How long we keep it

  • Reservations: kept for up to two years for operational and accounting purposes, then deleted or anonymized. Cancelled bookings are retained on the same schedule.
  • Contact-form messages: kept until the inquiry is resolved, plus a reasonable archive period in case you write back.
  • Edge logs: retained by Cloudflare per their standard policy (typically a few days to a few weeks).
  • Local storage: stays on your device until you clear it from your browser or use our cookie-preferences control. We never see it.

Your rights and choices

You can ask us at any time to:

  • See what reservation or contact-form data we have about you
  • Correct anything that's wrong
  • Delete it (subject to the legal retention windows above)
  • Receive a copy in a portable format

Residents of California, the EU, the UK, and other jurisdictions with similar laws have additional rights under the CCPA, GDPR, and equivalent statutes — we honor those rights regardless of where you live.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please email us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this page if our practices change. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent revision. For material changes, we'll post a notice in the site footer for at least 30 days.
